Appeals Process

The deadline for lodging appeals is 12 noon on Friday 27 April 2018.

There is an Appeal Process which enables parents/carers to appeal against non-admission to the school. If you are not happy with the allocted school place on 1 March:

1. Any boys who have met the qualifying standard for Marling School can ask to go on our waiting list by replying to Gloucestershire County Coucil's 1 March 2018 allocation letter by Thursday 8 March 2018.  The outcome of waiting list requests will be communicated to parents after 30 March 2018.

2. If your son met the qualifying standard but was not offered a place because the school was filled with boys who ranked higher in the test, or you are dissatisfied with the way the admission procedures were carried out, or if you believe extenuating circumstances may have affected your son's performance on the day of the tests, you have the right to appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel.  'Appeals Packs' can be requested from the Admissions Officer by emailing after 1 March 2018.  Appeal Forms to be lodged by 12 noon on Friday 27 April 2018.

For information, the Appeal Guidance Notes for 2017 appeals can be downloaded below.  We do not anticipate any major amendments for the 2018 appeals at the present time.
