Year 12 Chemistry students Jack Harrison and William Taylor entered the 2018 Cambridge University Chemistry Challenge. This involves sitting an extremely challenging exam paper designed to stretch their thinking about chemistry by applying the knowledge they have gained during their study at advanced level, to new areas.

The questions posed often stimulate much debate on, and enthusiasm for, chemistry - raising awareness of what the subject is all about. Tackling the paper also provides a good opportunity to develop some of the skills required for study at university and beyond. The questions are designed to be interesting and challenging and are based on real and relevant chemistry, raising awareness of what the subject is all about.

Both Jack and William gained Silver awards for the challenge, placing them in the top 20% of national entrants.
