A Level Results for our first coeducational year
We are extremely proud of the success our young people have achieved today with a superb set of results. This is Marling School’s first ever coeducational year group, and the largest cohort of students we have ever had, and these results reflect the hard work and determination shown by our students throughout their time at the school. They have been a wonderful year group, showing amazing resilience and character to deal with the challenges that the pandemic has created. I am delighted for them and for our staff who supported them so well, both academically and pastorally. We are really excited for the what the future brings them and we wish them the very best as they go on to the next step in their journey.
Their success means that nearly all students can progress on to their chosen destination whether that be to university, a higher apprenticeship or a foundation course. Most have matched or exceeded their offers from universities, including many of the highly selective universities requiring A* grades such as Bath, Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Kings College London, Manchester, University College London and York.
Notwithstanding the extraordinary nature of these results, the headlines figures show: 50% of exams at the highest A*-A grades including 23% at A* with 75% at A*-B and a pass rate was 99.8%. A large number of students exceeded their predicted grades including 5 students who achieved four A* grades, 50 (26%) achieving three A grade passes or better and over a third of students achieving at least one A* grade.
