Ex-student Simon talks to linguists
Simon Linsell, an Old Marlingtonian, came in to talk to Y9, Y10 and Y12 linguists about his experiences studying French for GCSE and A Level at Marling and then going on to study Arabic and Middle Eastern studies at the University of Exeter. Simon talked about where learning languages had taken him including being an extra in a film, getting out of some difficult situations when people assumed he couldn’t speak the language and even being a coach for the Jordanian rugby team! Whilst Simon is currently playing professional rugby for Gloucester, he also discussed what he’d like to do with his languages in the future. Thanks so much to Simon for coming in and thanks to our students for their fantastic questions and enthusiasm!
