Fencing Team Challenge at Wycliffe
Wycliffe hosted a fencing event that saw twelve teams from across the county meet to do battle in three age groups.
This years Marling team was very strong in its’ category. The trio of Henry Exworthy, Toby Temblett and Harrison Wittke took on teams from Thornbury, KLB and Stroud High. Their first match against a very inexperienced KLB side was a resounding 9-0 win. In their next encounter, Thornbury put up some strong resistance but were overcome 7-2. Their final match against Stroud High saw the boys take on the girls who they train alongside at the Wycliffe club. Another strong performance gave them another 7-2 win to secure top spot in the pool
All the fencers, parents and siblings were invited to Wycliffe Hall for a match tea afterward. The atmosphere was buzzing with many compliments from the home and visiting teams on how much they all enjoyed the experience.
